Many commercial sunscreens use chemicals that can be concerning for skin health (linked here). As a safe, plant-based alternative, we offer our Sun Salutation Facial Serum, which provides both sun protection and nourishment. This hydrating serum can be used before and/or after sun exposure.
All plant oils in our serum contain inherent UVA & UVB protective properties, with three standout ingredients: red raspberry, avocado, and sea buckthorn oils. Red raspberry oil offers an SPF ranging from 28-50, while avocado oil provides an SPF of around 14. Although sea buckthorn oil has a lower SPF, it is renowned for reducing the damaging effects of the sun's radiation on a cellular level, making it a reparative ally for sun-exposed skin.
We’ve also added three infused oils for their analgesic, protective, anti-inflammatory, and skin-soothing properties: poplar (cottonwood) bud, St. John's Wort, and green tea extract. Green Tea Extract is particularly powerful for nourishing and rejuvenating your skin after sun exposure. Packed with potent antioxidants, notably EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate), it helps neutralize free radicals generated by UV rays, reducing oxidative stress and preventing premature aging. Its anti-inflammatory properties soothe redness and irritation while promoting the repair and regeneration of damaged skin cells. Additionally, Green Tea Extract hydrates and revitalizes the skin, restoring its natural glow and elasticity.
